Tampa’s Premier Downtown Address Rings in 25 Years as the Tallest Building in Tampa’s Skyline
TAMPA, FL, July 12, 2017 — Cushman & Wakefield announced today that 100 North Tampa is proud to celebrate its 25th year as the premier downtown Tampa office address.
Construction of 100 North Tampa began in May 1990 and the building opened in July 1992. HKS Architects of Dallas designed the building, and Beers Construction of Atlanta was the general contractor. 100 North Tampa was developed by Paragon Group, Inc. in joint venture with AIG Real Estate Investment and Management Co., Inc.
The building was acquired by Prudential in 2007. With numerous new investments in energy efficiency, upgrades, attractive public areas and comprehensive amenities, 100 North Tampa attracts corporate office tenants from a diverse array of industries and markets. Cushman & Wakefield leases and manages the building for Prudential.
100 North Tampa was constructed as a timeless building with forward-thinking technology, contemporary engineering and classic architecture.
100 North Tampa’s exterior features polished Rosa Dante granite (quarried in Spain) and pewter tinted glass. Architectural features include articulated granite cornices, sculpted corners and curved bullnose shapes on the north and south ends, topped by a Gothic-style green standing seam metal roof. The granite arches that frame the building entrances are 40 feet high, and the foundation mat of the building is nine feet thick, weighs more than 35 million pounds and contains enough concrete to pave a two-lane highway eight inches thick and 2 3/4 miles long.
Technology upgrades include 12 high-speed, computer-controlled elevators serving the office floors, and three equally sophisticated elevators linking the garage levels to the main lobby.
With 552,000 square feet of leasable Class A office space, tenants such as Holland & Knight, Foley & Lardner, and Morgan Stanley call 100 North Tampa home. Tenants at 100 North Tampa can enjoy 13 levels of fully-enclosed parking for 603 vehicles, as well as various building amenities, such as a full-service Regions Bank branch in the lobby, an auto detailing service, a tenant conference facility, a dry cleaner, a shoe shine and repair service, a full-time concierge, sundries shop, and a fitness facility. A full-time, on-site concierge provides a number of services for 100 North Tampa tenants, including the coordination of meetings and parties, restaurant or theatre reservations and the free loan of umbrellas on rainy days.
100 North Tampa is proud to be a leader in sustainability. Beginning in 2008, and every year thereafter, 100 North Tampa has been awarded the ENERGY STAR® designation by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency/Department of Energy as being among the top 25% of facilities in the country for energy performance. In 2009 and again in 2014, 100 North Tampa achieved LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Silver Certification as designated by the United States Green Building Council’s LEED® green building certification program. 100 North Tampa has also received the Building Owners and Managers Association International (BOMA) Office Building of the Year (TOBY) award numerous times and received the BOMA 360 certification in 2016.
100 North Tampa is located at 100 North Tampa Street at the intersection of Whiting Street in downtown Tampa. 100 North Tampa’s central location offers unparalleled views of the city, the downtown landscape, the beautiful waters of Tampa Bay and beyond. It is located seven miles from Tampa International Airport.
“100 North Tampa is not only the signature building on the Tampa skyline, but is widely recognized as the premier office address in Tampa Bay,” said Phil Dinkins, Cushman & Wakefield Director of Leasing for 100 North Tampa. “We are proud to celebrate a remarkable history and recognize a strong future in downtown Tampa.”
100 North Tampa will celebrate its 25 years with a private event featuring cake and a celebratory toast for its tenants.
